JGU’s Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R)

By implementing its own HRS4R, JGU aims to continuously improve the working conditions for its researchers in a process of quality-assured personnel management. This will help to enhance the attractiveness of pursuing a research career at JGU.

On 18 December 2015, the Senate of JGU adopted an Action Plan for implementing its HRS4R.  JGU received the HR Excellence in Research award in May 2016 and in June 2018, prepared an interim report which was approved in January 2019. In March 2022, JGU applied for award renewal which will be evaluated in a remote site visit in summer 2022.

JGU is committed to realizing its updated Action Plans and to regularly assessing the status of implementation. In the future, a new interim report will be due every three years, supplemented by a site visit every six years.

Involved Departments

At JGU, various departments are committed to improving the working conditions of researchers. They work together to develop, implement and evaluate new ideas. An annual HRS4R Forum ensures an exchange between the different actors. In addition, JGU takes part in the annual networking workshops organized by the German Rectors' Conference.
